Who are we?

Extremely Human was born from a place of love and unwavering determination, created by me, RJ. Our rose tinted vision is bold: we are doing something to change the devastating statistics of overdose and suicide by sparking conversations that matter—conversations about the different burdens we all carry that weigh on our humanity. I believe in the power of education and the importance of bringing resources directly to the streets and communities that need them most.

Over the years, while struggling with my own recovery I’ve watched these hidden struggles dim the light in people’s eyes, steal their hopes, dreams, and, too often, their lives. I’m using my loud voice and laugh to break through the silence and make a difference. Even when I don’t have all the answers, I keep pushing forward, knowing that taking action, no matter how uncertain, is better than standing still. Doing something is better than doing nothing.

Since Extremely Human began in early 2024, we’ve already made an impact—distributing over 600 units of Narcan and fentanyl test strips, teaching more than 300 people how to use them, and sharing vital resources for mental health and recovery. We’re on a mission to take the fear out of Narcan, recovery, and being human. With a hopeful spirit and a belief that change is possible, we are here to transform the narrative—one conversation, one life at a time.

We use the
science behind “rose tinted glasses,” we are focused on a future where recovery is normalized.

In 2023 opioid overdose related deaths went down by roughly 10%. But in Washington.. they went up by 27%. Opioid related overdoses have now become the number one reason people age 18-45 are dying.

Each of us is capable of saving a live.
Because Narcan saves lives, so can you.
